Powder Blending:
Blending minerals to suit each customer’s specifications and maximizing efficiencies is the art mastered at Hill and Griffith.
Although blended formulations vary from customer to customer, you can be assured that our experience and computer controlled systems will mix the perfect blend of quality ingredients time after time. Any change to formulations can be easily handled and controlled by simply changing parameter settings in the computer-controlled programs.
Mineral Resources:
Minerals are brought into our facilities daily from various mining locations across the country. Both railcars and bulk trucks are used to transport these raw materials from mines to all our processing locations in the United States. To keep up with supply and demand, new resources are constantly being explored to locate potential sources that will keep this pipeline fed, control costs and supply variety.
Liquid Blending Facility:
Liquid blending consists of lubricants, releases, refractory washes, pastes, glues, slurries and paints. These raw materials are received by bulk trucks and stored in the liquid bulk tank farm. These products can be packaged in totes, drums or pails and squeeze bottles.
Testing and Technical Services:
All manufacturing locations utilize laboratory quality control checks to analyze your samples, provide documented results and assist you in achieving optimum performance of your product. Trained personnel, knowledgeable in the materials in your product, are available to assist and work with you in technical matters.
Transloading Capabilities:
Transfer services of bulk materials – like clays and minerals – and liquids from railroad cars to trucks and vice versa. Hill and Griffith can also repackage materials into bulk bags, super sacks, drums or mini-tanks and deliver these materials to any location nationwide. The amount of bulk material and liquids transferred at each location varies, but as an example of capacity, the Cincinnati location processes up to 30 bulk trucks a day or about 1.5 million pounds.
Hill and Griffith is ISO-9002 compliant at all five facilities and capabilities include:
- Bulk (pneumatic truck or rail) unloading and loading
- Transloading capabilities
- 6,000-lb. state-of-the-art batch mixing of multiple granular/power and liquid ingredients
- Bulk / semi bulk liquid mixing with packing in drums or mini-tanks
- Multiple 100 – 150 ton bulk storage silos.
- Custom Packaging – bag, super sack, truck, or rail
- Nationwide delivery
- Minimum order processing quantities required.
Hill and Griffith processes and ships over 1500 tons of material daily throughout the Midwestern and Southeastern United States and owns several semis to make regional deliveries.
