Die Casting Inherently Biodegradable Non-Volatile Liquid Parting

Large Metal Foundry and Die CastingThe Y-250 Liquid Parting was especially produced to meet or exceed fire and health requirements not met by other conventional compounds of this type. In use, however, an economic advantage was discovered in that less material is required to achieve good results. In many green sand applications, up to 50% less Y-250 may be used effectively.

BIODEGRADABILITY:

Y-250 Liquid Parting is classified as “inherently biodegradable” having a half-life of less than 60 days (based on ASTM 5864/OECD 301B).

  • No Red Label
  • Flash Point 270o to 300o F
  • No ash content
  • Non carcinogenic
  • Will not separate in cold-weather storage
  • Applicable by conventional, airless or electrostatic sprayers

Added to CO2 sands (at no more than 4 oz. per 100 lbs. of sand), Y-250 Parting Compound will retard drying and improve the flowability of silicate sand mixes.

For oil sand mixes, 0.05% has been used as a core release agent by spraying directly on the oil sand core box.
