Cobra™ 15N Metalcasting Release

Large Metal Foundry and Die CastingRelease Agent for Green Sand Metalcasting Foundry

COBRA™ 15N is a ready to use flammable release agent that can be used in a wide variety of core making operations. Manufactured with high quality ingredients, COBRA™ 15N provides excellent lubrication and release with minimal build up on the pattern. The core/molding processes using COBRA™ 15N typically include chemical bonded cold box and no-bake systems including water sensitive materials such as sodium silicates and when flammability is not a concern.

Use Recommendations

COBRA™ 15N has seen usage and success in the areas of Oil Sand, Cold Box and Air Set Molding. The release will be affected by usage rates and intricacy of the core produced. Generally, the release agent can be applied using conventional spraying equipment such as an airless sprayer, a pressurized canister type sprayer or a molders siphon sprayer. In the latter instance it may be necessary to reduce the airflow in the inlet orifice of the container. Due to the flammability of COBRA™ 15N, care should be taken when handling and applying this product.
